Developing analytical and creative thinking

We cannot predict what the future will hold for our pupils. But we expect that they will leave the Archer Academy to follow a range of different paths, whether onto further or higher education, into apprenticeships or jobs, starting up their own businesses or engaging in the creative arts.

We also recognise that, while learning how to pass exams is a key part of any education, it is equally important to teach children to think for themselves, to analyse problems and develop innovative solutions. These skills will be invaluable throughout their education, and even more so when they enter the workplace.

We will therefore place a firm emphasis on analytical thinking and creative abilities across all aspects of the curriculum, encouraging our pupils to become well-rounded, inventive and self-motivated adults.

We will also include a range of cross curricular projects in the timetable, allowing our pupils to explore the links between different subjects and see how looking at topics from fresh perspectives can enrich their understanding.
